Growing up on a smallholding beside a woodland, I developed an early appreciation for nature, wood burners, and sustainable heating.

My career in the solid fuel industry began with HETAS training, qualifying me as an approved Chimney Sweep and HETAS approved solid fuel stove installer. I also hold City & Guilds certifications in Chainsaw Operation and Tree Felling, giving me hands-on insight into the full wood fuel journey—from source to stove.

In 2012, whilst based in the North East, I co-founded gdlogs.co.uk, supplying responsibly sourced firewood focused on quality and sustainability.

Alongside this, and following my University degree, I built a 20-year career in marketing, delivering award-winning campaigns for brands such as TUI, Auto Trader, and Sue Ryder.
